Some things to keep in mind when RPing or even when building your character.

This is set 1000 years before the show, meaning more primitive technology.

The Countries are not well established. There is much internal strife and
conflict and the emerging governments battle for control

Towns are generally quite small, ranging at most to a few hundred people. The
exception being Capitol cities or trade cities like Magnolia.

Mage is a 'new' thing to the world, in terms of it being out in the open. In
the past there have been mages, but it was very controlled and secretive.
Only recently did it break out of the veil for unknown reasons and because of
this the general public and governments are very cautious and untrusting of
mages right now.
